What is a mirror TV and how does it work?
How mirror TV technology works: the two-way mirror, the TV panel, and why the screen looks like an ordinary mirror when switched off.
A mirror TV is a television placed behind a two-way (semi-transparent) mirror. When the screen is off, the surface reflects light like a normal mirror. When the TV is on, the picture shines through and you see a full 4K screen.
The two-way mirror
The key component is a high-transmission two-way mirror. It reflects the surroundings on one side while letting the light from the TV panel pass through on the other. The higher the mirror quality, the brighter the picture and the cleaner the mirror effect.
What a mirror TV is made of
- a TV panel (usually 4K, with a smart TV system),
- a two-way mirror cut to size and shape,
- a frame or enclosure in your chosen finish,
- optionally: LED backlight and audio integration.
Where it works best
Mirror TV shines where aesthetics and discretion matter: the bathroom, living room, bedroom, as well as commercial spaces: hotels, spas and beauty salons.
